PM Experience:
24 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months. 12 months of Medical Surgical/Telemetry Unit experience with 12 months worked in the last 3 years. Experience with Epic is required.
Requirements:
Candidates must have a Illinois license (required for submission). This role may require floating to additional units and locations Local & travel allowed. COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted. No current placement allowed at

Required Skills/Experience:
  • Must have total joint experience.
  • Understanding of PCA pumps, reversal drugs (Narcan), sepsis management, TPN/lipids, and narcotic usage.
  • 1 year of experience
  • surgical experience required.
Special Requests:
  • Block scheduling is not guaranteed; discuss scheduling needs with the leader.
Unit Details:
  • Inpatient surgical Med Surg/Tele unit.
  • Nurse:
    patient ratios: 1:4-6 nights, 1:5-6; LPNs available, with virtual admission and discharge nurses to assist. Primary care nursing model is frequently used.
  • Common patient population/procedures: neuro cases including laminectomy, cervical fusion, LESI; belly surgeries including ostomies and hernia repair; total hip/knee joint replacements; PICC, TPN/lipids; fem-pop bypass; dialysis catheter insertions; BKA/AKA; dialysis patients; PCA and some epidurals; IV antibiotics; chronic pain/narcotics; sepsis; urgent OR cases.
  • RNs titrate heparin drips per protocol.
  • Tele monitor techs are available; RNs interpret their own strips. Uses Draeger monitors.
  • CPAP (home unit), Airvo possibly, and BiPAP occasionally; RT manages respiratory equipment.
  • Fast-paced, heavy-patient unit with 8-12 surgery admits per day plus discharges.
Shift & Scheduling:
  • Every other weekend (Saturday/Sunday).
  • Holiday rotation with core staff.
  • No call.
Floating Requirements:
  • Float to like units only.
If floated to higher acuity, would work as a help-all and not take a patient load. 7 days maximum time off 1 Manager/Supervisor reference required from within the last 12 months 1 reference required from within the last 3 years Proof of identification required
