Category Schools - RN Nurse Job Type Contract Step into a vital role supporting high school students with complex medical needs in a collaborative educational environment. We're seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse for a contract opportunity, working day shifts from 7:30am to 3:45pm (lunch included). You'll join an established team, providing care for up to 13 medically fragile students—currently, there are six students on your caseload—with support from other nursing staff on-site. Your expertise will be essential in responding to health emergencies, administering skilled procedures, and creating a safe, nurturing space so that every student has the opportunity to thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver direct nursing care and monitor medically fragile students throughout the school day Respond swiftly and calmly to crisis situations and emergency medical needs Perform skilled medical interventions, including but not limited to g-tube feedings and medication administration Collaborate with fellow nurses, school staff, and families to develop individualized care plans Maintain accurate health records and ensure all documentation is compliant with regulatory standards Support health education, staff training, and promote wellness initiatives within the school

Preferred Qualifications:

Current Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license Previous experience in a school setting or with pediatric populations Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution (preferred) Strong background in crisis response, emergency care, and medical procedures Demonstrated understanding of the needs of medically fragile students Excellent communication, collaboration, and advocacy skills Take your nursing career to the next level by making a daily difference in students' lives.
