Job Description

Please apply at: https://www.applitrack.com/d73/onlineapp/jobpostings/view.asp The School Nurse supports student attendance and success by managing health office operations, maximizing overall building wellness, delivering localized clinical care, and acting as a dependable resource for families, staff, and community health networks.
Key Performance Areas:
Provide first aid, initial triage care, appropriate parent notification, and medical referrals Administer medications and treatments and perform specialized health care procedures and support (e.g., toileting, etc.) Provide designated case management for student 504 Plans as appropriate within the building framework Complete hearing and vision screenings alongside comprehensive health histories for student evaluations under IDEA Execute targeted hearing and vision screenings for district Play-Based Assessments and Preschool Screening events Assess individual health needs and develop, implement, and collaborate on student care plans Ensure compliance with State of Illinois mandates for physical examinations, images, immunizations, and medical reports Manage communicable diseases in accordance with Skokie and Illinois Department of Public Health guidelines Oversee the District 73 Vision and Hearing Screening Program, handling referrals and timely state reporting Access community resources and develop partnerships to improve health and wellness access for the D73 community Monitor emerging public health concerns (e.g., infectious diseases) and advise the district on mitigation plans Assist with main office administrative duties and front desk coverage as needed to support building operations Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the health office
Required Licensure & Metrics:
Valid Illinois Registered Professional Nurse (RN) License Current CPR/AED/First Aid Certificate Comprehensive understanding of the operational needs of school health offices Familiarity with the IEP and Section 504 framework Knowledge in pediatrics, public health, mental health, and education frameworks
Preferred Professional Attributes:
Excellent technology skills, including proficiency with Google Suite Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, community, and staff Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision while meeting time constraints Maintains professional boundaries and consistently demonstrates ethical behavior
Pay:
From $54,500.00 per year
