We are seeking a dedicated School Nurse for an exciting opportunity in Cook County, IL, providing essential health services to K-2 students for the 2026-2027 school year. This role is an excellent fit for a compassionate nursing professional who thrives in a school environment and enjoys working with children. Location:

In-person only (no hybrid/virtual options)

Schedule:

Monday-Friday, 8:00am-3:00pm, 6.5 hours per day,

Guaranteed Hours:

32.5 per week Grade Level(s): K-2nd

Position Details:

Provide direct care, including assessing and treating illnesses, injuries, and chronic conditions, while administering medications and first aid. Maintain accurate health records, ensure immunization compliance, and uphold state and federal health regulations. Educate students, staff, and parents on health, hygiene, and disease prevention while supporting students with special medical needs. Collaborate with school staff, healthcare providers, and public health agencies to promote student well-being and emergency preparedness.

Responsibilities:

Provide direct healthcare to students and staff. Administer prescribed medications and treatments. Monitor and manage chronic health conditions. Maintain documentation and health records in compliance with regulations. Promote health education and preventive care. Participate in the development of health-related school policies.

Qualifications:

Unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of Illinois. Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited professional nursing program. Professional Educator's License (PEL) in the state of Illinois with School Nurse certification. Experience working with school-aged children. Experience in health records administration for schools.
