In this vital role, you will provide expert nursing care during endoscopic procedures, ensuring patient safety, comfort, and optimal outcomes. Your expertise will support diagnostic and therapeutic interventions within a fast-paced, state-of-the-art environment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work alongside skilled physicians and healthcare professionals committed to delivering exceptional patient care through innovative endoscopic techniques. Duties Prepare patients for endoscopic procedures by explaining the process, obtaining informed consent, and assessing their medical history. Assist physicians during endoscopy procedures, including scope handling, tissue sampling, and therapeutic interventions such as Botulinum toxin treatments. Monitor patient vital signs and sedation levels throughout procedures, ensuring safety and comfort at all times. Maintain strict aseptic technique and infection control standards to prevent contamination and ensure patient safety. Document all aspects of patient care accurately in electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner, including procedure details, medication administration, and post-procedure instructions. Provide post-procedure care and education to patients regarding recovery protocols, medication use, and follow-up appointments. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including gastroenterologists, anesthesiologists, and laboratory staff to coordinate comprehensive patient care. Requirements Valid RN license with current state certification. Proven experience in endoscopy nursing or a related specialty such as gastroenterology or surgical nursing. Familiarity with advanced endoscopic procedures including Botulinum toxin treatment, gastric lavage, or other therapeutic interventions. Knowledge of EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Epic or Cerner for accurate documentation. Strong understanding of aseptic technique, infection control practices, and patient assessment protocols. Experience with IV infusion, sedation monitoring, and airway management during procedures. Critical care experience or ICU background is highly desirable for managing complex cases requiring acute pain management or emergency response skills. Ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments such as Level I Trauma Centers or hospital settings with trauma medicine exposure.
