Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm Summary/Objective Coordinates educational programs for hospital and resident home employees. Documents education provided and the employees who attend. Ensures that quality educational programs are provided to hospital and resident home employees. Assists in the development of orientation programs. Helps to ensure that current policy and procedures are in compliance with standards of practice. Coordinates post hire physical requirements for all employees. Communicates with management in order to meet the needs of individual departments. Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Plans, organizes and implements general orientation, annual re-orientation, and nursing orientation programs for all levels of personnel in the hospital. Plans, coordinates and conducts continuing education programs for employees. Coordinates, development and maintenance of educational records on all staff with Human Resources, reports completion of annual requirements to department Directors in a timely manner. Collaborates and maintains reports as required. Maintains evaluation of educational programs. Evaluates personnel in skill training and orientation programs and makes recommendations to the Nurse Manager. Determines effectiveness of orientation materials and procedures, revises and updates as needed. Sets up demonstrations of clinical equipment to acquaint hospital staff to new equipment and assists with the competency of staff on the use of new equipment. Plans, coordinates and conducts regular and special inservice training sessions for hospital staff to acquaint them with new procedures, trends, and developments in patient care techniques to provide opportunity for individual members to develop to their fullest potential. Ensures that standards established by professional organizations and/or agencies for the professional staff are current and incorporated in curriculum or program. Assists with coordination of educational programs for volunteer staff as assigned. Applies knowledge of all hospital procedures, safety rules, supervision techniques and related information to formulate training curriculum and organizes lectures, training manuals, visual aids and other training implements. Lectures and demonstrates procedures using appropriate visual aids. Coordinates CPR, PALS, and ACLS instruction for the hospital staff. Serves as liaison to American Heart Association Regional Coordinator and is responsible for annual onsite reviews. Develops educational programs to meet regulatory mandatory requirements including but not limited to the Joint Commission, CMS, IPT, ect. Other duties as assigned. Competencies Strong verbal and written communication skills. Proficient with computer software to create training and presentations. Self-directed, independent, goal oriented behavior. High ethical practice standards. Required Education and Experience Bachelor s degree in nursing preferred. Experience in developing and presenting successful educational programs. Licenses/Certifications Current State of Illinois RN license. Certification in
BLS, ACLS & PALS

The hospital operates rural health clinics in Watseka, IL, Gilman, IL, Milford, IL, Saint Anne, IL and Kentland, IN.
