1 Description American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for an 8-week night shift assignment at a short-term acute care hospital, requiring active IN or Compact RN licensure and a minimum of 2 years of ICU experience. Details Work in the ICU of a 174-bed short-term acute care hospital Heavy medical ICU with some surgical patients, primarily GI and carotid cases Very active 24/7 Cath Lab that admits directly into the ICU Patient ratio of 1:2 Night shift schedule, 4x12-hour shifts (19:00-07:30) Charting in Cerner (experience required) Weekend availability required (flexible/varying) Floating required within scope to AAU and MS units, as well as potential affiliate hospitals nearby No on-call requirements Requirements Active IN or Compact RN license currently in hand Current certifications: BLS and ACLS required (AHA or RQI accepted); NIH Stroke Scale preferred Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required Nursing degree from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited program required Proficiency in Cerner EMR required Experience with dysrhythmia interpretation and management, multi-system organ failure, pre/post cardiac cath/intervention, IV insulin protocols, GI surgery, and chronic/acute renal failure Experience with arterial line management, central line care/management, and PICC line management Experience with blood product administration and continuous IV sedations Ability to titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips Experience with BiPAP, CPAP, HFNC, ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and suctioning Knowledge of infection prevention, isolation protocols, and PPE use 2 supervisor references required SSN and DOB required for consideration Additional Information First-time travelers are welcome to apply Candidates who are Indiana residents are considered local and are not eligible for this position Any current or former permanent or PRN employee of IU Health must have been separated for at least 12 months before applying as a traveler Travelers who have accrued 12 months of travel employment within IU Health are required to take a consecutive break to reset travel eligibility: out-of-state residents require a 90-day break, and in-state residents require a 180-day break Must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays Up to 5 days of RTO can be auto-approved Red top and black bottom scrubs required Free parking available on-site
