CPR Full Job Description Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for preparing and educating patients and families on pre and post-operative instructions including recovering patients after outpatient procedures.
PRN basis:
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 0600AM - 0300PM CST as needed Regular attendance and reporting to work promptly are an essential part of this position
Essential Functions:
Assesses patient status on admission to pre-op or post-op area, and on a continuing basis. Provides safe, quality patient care to the Pre-op and Post-op patient by utilizing the nursing process and nursing diagnosis in a timely manner and by setting appropriate priorities. Coordinates nursing interventions to enhance achievement of expected outcomes and to ensure readiness for discharge. Observe and interpret patient's symptoms and communicate them to physicians Collaborate with physicians and nurses to devise individualized care plans for patients Perform routine procedures (blood pressure measurements, administering injections etc.) and fill in patients' charts Administration of medications and IV fluids based on age of the patient and patient's clinical condition. Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders Charts patient information accurately and timely Inspect the facilities and act to maintain excellent hygiene and safety (decontaminating equipment, sanitizing surfaces, preparing beds etc.) Provide instant medical care in emergencies Assist surgeons during procedures if required The preceding examples are representative of the assignments performed by this position and are not intended to be all-inclusive.
Job Qualifications:
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Indiana Graduate of an accredited nursing program 1-2 years of
PACU, CCU, ICU, ER
experience required Ambulatory Surgery Center or Outpatient Clinic experience preferred ACLS and BLS and CPR certifications required
Physical Requirements:
Requires the physical ability and stamina (i.e. to walk/stand, talk) for prolonged periods of time, push carts/wheelchairs, position/lift patients more than 50 pounds without assistance, provide CPR, etc.) to perform the essential functions of the position.
