IU Health Medical Group, Fort Wayne, IN Schedule:
Four days per week,
Monday-Friday, Onsite Position Overview:
Join IU Health as an Ambulatory Nursing Professional Development (NPD) Practitioner supporting our Medical Group locations in Fort Wayne, IN. This pivotal role leverages expert NPD practice to foster the professional growth, competence, and confidence of ambulatory nursing staff. Working closely with unit leaders and key stakeholders, you will drive initiatives that enhance patient care quality and support IU Health's commitment to excellence, teamwork, and continuous learning—embodying the IU Health Way.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead onboarding and orientation programs for new ambulatory nursing staff, ensuring seamless integration into the practice environment. Manage competency assessments, development, and ongoing education to maintain high standards of clinical practice. Design and implement role development initiatives aligned with organizational goals and professional standards. Foster collaborative partnerships across units and departments to support shared learning and continuous improvement. Promote a culture of inquiry and evidence-based practice, encouraging staff to engage in quality improvement projects and research activities. Serve as a resource for clinical education, providing guidance and mentorship to enhance professional role development.
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; MSN in Education or related field preferred Minimum of 2 years of ambulatory clinical experience required Previous experience in education or staff development is a plus Current and active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) license Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) Additional certifications (e.g., ACLS, PALS) may be required based on unit or specialty needs Graduation from a nationally accredited nursing program Demonstrated knowledge of adult learning principles and teaching strategies Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills Willingness and ability to travel as needed to support educational initiatives across facilities Why Join IU Health?
