Med-Surg Nurse (RN) - Haysville, KS

Category Nursing - RN-MS Job Type Contract Step into a dynamic orthopedic-spine environment on a newly opened unit, caring for post-operative patients and supporting their recovery journey. Work alongside a collaborative team of experienced RNs, PCTs, CNAs, and clinical coordinators in a fast-paced, supportive setting. Leverage state-of-the-art technology, including advanced traction equipment, while providing compassionate, high-quality patient care.

7:00 PM - 7:00

AM Qualifications:

Current, unrestricted RN license Medical-surgical nursing experience, with a strong preference for Ortho Spine backgrounds Familiarity with traction equipment and related protocols Awareness and practice of spine, hip, and joint precautions Proficiency with Meditech EMR Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team-based environment Outgoing, compassionate, and adaptable personality

Responsibilities:

Deliver patient-centered nursing care to adults recovering from orthopedic surgeries, such as total joint and spine procedures Monitor, assess, and document patient responses, communicating changes to the interdisciplinary care team Utilize advanced equipment, including traction, and strictly adhere to established orthopedic protocols and safety measures Collaborate with clinical team members—other RNs, PCTs, CNAs, and charge staff—to ensure optimal patient outcomes and seamless shift transitions Educate patients and families on surgical recovery processes, mobility, and home-care precautions Maintain a high standard of charting accuracy and timeliness within the Meditech EMR system
