Job Description

Category Nursing - RN-PICU Job Type Travel Experience the vibrant charm of Haysville, KS, a gateway to both small-town friendliness and the excitement of nearby urban attractions. This travel nursing opportunity places you at the heart of a renowned Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), offering not only the chance to make a direct impact in the lives of young patients, but also expanding your professional experience in a Level II Trauma setting. Your assignment here provides exposure to a high-acuity environment, diverse workplace practices, and the opportunity to collaborate with experienced intensivists and multidisciplinary teams, enhancing both your clinical and leadership skills. You'll be working within a dedicated staff of 38, on a 15-bed PICU floor where state-of-the-art monitoring is standard and patient ratios allow for quality, focused care. Gain experience with advanced technology and innovative treatment protocols typical of a pediatric teaching hospital, further elevating your resume for future roles.
Schedule:
7:00 PM - 7:00 AM shifts
Key Qualifications:
Active RN license with at least 1 year of recent acute care PICU experience BLS and PALS certifications required Strong IV skills and experience with blood draws/TPT placements Ability to thrive under pressure and within teaching hospital settings CRRT experience, APHON certification, and pediatric teaching hospital exposure highly preferred
Role Responsibilities:
Deliver direct, compassionate care to critically ill pediatric patients Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team (intensivists, respiratory therapists, dietitians) Perform IV starts, blood draws, and TPT placements Document care using Meditech/CPN EMR systems Uphold best practices in pediatric critical care and continuously seek professional development
