Job Description

Category Nursing - RN-PACU Job Type Travel Embark on a dynamic nursing role in a collaborative perioperative environment dedicated to top-notch patient care. This contract RN opportunity is centered in a specialized Pre-Op Holding/ASU unit featuring 9 dedicated pre-op beds and 5 phase 2 recovery beds, supported by a skilled team of RNs and advanced equipment such as Pyxis, GE
MACVU EKG
machines, Doppler, bladder scanners, and patient scales. You'll contribute to a team with a robust mix of full-time, part-time, and PRN clinicians who prioritize patient safety and positive experiences.
Schedule:
Day shift: 5:00 AM - 5:00 PM On-call required with a 30-minute response time
Qualifications:
Active RN license with at least 1 year of current hospital-based Pre-Op experience Current BLS and ACLS certifications Proficiency with Meditech EMR preferred Experience or adaptability in the preop setting is a plus Strong communication skills and commitment to patient-first care
Responsibilities:
Oversee pre-op assessments and prepare patients across a range of surgical and outpatient procedures (including urology, GYN, endoscopy, cath lab, CT imaging, infusion therapies, EKGs, blocks, and transfusions) Manage phase 2 recoveries and coordinate care for same-day surgery patients Communicate effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure a smooth care experience Maintain patient ratios of approximately 1:3 for effective and safe care delivery Consistently follow established policies and unit guidelines
