Job Description

Full Time 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. 4 day work week (M-F)
On-Call Requirement:
1 day/week and every 4th weekend About the
Role:
The Registered Nurse in Surgical Services plays a critical role in delivering high-quality perioperative care to patients undergoing surgical procedures. This position involves comprehensive patient assessment, preparation, and monitoring before, during, and after surgery to ensure optimal outcomes and patient safety. The nurse collaborates closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and respond promptly to any changes in patient condition. Additionally, the role requires adherence to strict infection control protocols and surgical standards to maintain a sterile and safe environment.
Responsibilities:
Circulates surgical cases Pre-Op of patients PACU - recovery of patients
Minimum Qualifications:
Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (preferred) or Associates Degree in Nursing. Must have a current, valid Registered Nurse license issued by the Kansas State Board of Nursing. Or a Compact Registered Nurse License authorized to work in the State of Kansas.
Must have current certifications including:
Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - or be willing to obtain them. Experience or clinical exposure in surgical or perioperative nursing, preferred. Strong understanding of surgical procedures, aseptic techniques, and patient safety protocols.
