Jul 27, 2026 Job Description Description The Health Services Facilitator is responsible for overseeing the health management of students through collaboration, training, documentation, and billing. The Health Services Facilitator manages student health plans for students with IEPs, coordinates health plans with physicians, other school personnel and parents. The Health Services Facilitator provides training to staff on precautionary and immediate medical intervention and support, including First Aid and CPR. A basic understanding of the educational curriculum and the specific learning needs of students with disabilities is required. This position is a shared position, working with a student 1:1 as the nurse and afternoons completing the Health SErvices Facilitator responsibilities. Essential Responsibilities Provide nursing to student. Bill on nursing services. Collaborates with district nursing, school personnel, and parents to develop appropriate health plans for students with IEPs. Communicate and collaborate clearly with Tri-County administration on medical needs of students. Provide training to school personnel on precautionary and immediate medical intervention related specifically to needs on an IEP. Stay current and to be able to train Tri-County staff for First Aid and CPR. Provide Child Find Hearing and Vision screenings. Schedule Early Childhood screenings for all seven districts and disseminate appointments to those that need the information. Provide Hearing and Vision screenings for "hard to test" IEP students within the districts. Coordinate referrals to contracted agencies for Hearing and Vision tests. Communicate with students' health care providers when more information is required or a health care plan is being developed. Share Child Find screening information with health care providers and other health related agencies (such as WIC) on an annual basis. Facilitate and assist, with input from district nurse and coordinator, on the hiring of staff working with medically fragile students, working under the license of the Health Services Facilitator. Develop practices for, maintain, and oversee the Medicaid billing system within Tri-County. Provide oversight of billing logs and communicate with administration on issues pertaining to billing. Communicate with need-to-know staff about billing expectations and requirements. Enter medical information into, or provide information for, the IEP program for students with significant medical needs. Author presentations for staff training and as requested by the administration. Perform other duties, as assigned. Physical Requirements/Environmental Conditions Requires prolonged sitting or standing. Requires physical exertion to manually move, lift, carry, pull, or push heavy objects or materials. Occasional stooping, bending, and reaching. Must be able to work in a variety of noisy and crowded environments. Must be able to demonstrate effective organizational skills and work with a deadline. Maintain a valid driver's license and be able to operate a vehicle. Other General Responsibilities Participate in staff meetings, as requested. Demonstrate effective interpersonal relationships with others. Maintain appropriate, confidential records and provide timely reports. Keep abreast of new programming requirements in the area of school nursing and health. Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills. Maintain a positive attitude. Assist in general office functions, as needed, in an effort to provide continuity in office operations. See that Interlocal policies are observed during all activities. Obtain advance approval for inservice training, as required. Maintain Continuing Education Credits for continued licensure. Adhere to all district and Interlocal health and safety policies, including all precautions of the Bloodborne Pathogens Exposure Control Plan. Other duties as assigned by the Director of Special Education. Qualifications Registered nurse in the state of Kansas Minimum of two years of nursing experience. Preference for background/experience with students, students with disabilities. Health and inoculation certificate on file at the Central Office. Desire to continue career improvement. Salary Salary is commensurate with experience and licensure.
