JOB SUMMARY
Coordinates all wound care and hyperbaric oxygen therapy treatments into the total nursing care plan for patients, participates in patient and family teaching and provides leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary departments and other patient team personnel in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Education Current KY RN license, BSN preferred. Current BLS certification Required Skills Ability to work will with others. A knowledge and understanding of the Billing and Coding guidelines. Minimum Work Experience Minimum of 2 years of management experience in a Wound Treatment Program and Hyperbaric Medicine Department preferred.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Assess and documents accurate description of wounds. Collaborates with other healthcare team members to coordinate patient's wound/ostomy care. Performs and assist physicians in wound treatments of the patient. Assist physician with procedures i.e. debridement, biopsy(s) Observes, records and reports to the nursing supervisor, physician and other healthcare team members on patients' condition and reaction to treatment, drugs and changes in condition. Maintains the standards of nursing care and implements the policies and procedures of the hospital. Assesses the patient's condition and nursing needs; sets goals; prescribes appropriate nursing actions to meet those goals and the physical, psychological, social and rehabilitative needs of the patient, including discharge planning. Participates in team conferences in development of individualized nursing care plans as needed. Conducts departmental in-services for continuing education for the various staff of the department and hospital. Provides education to patients/family regarding wound care and ostomy needs according to patients plan of care. Participates in economical utilization in supplies and ensures that equipment is maintained in a clean and safe manner. Participates in orientation of new personnel. Develops and documents discharge plan for outpatients with physician, patient/family and other available resources. Serves as an educator, consultant/resource regarding wound, Ostomy, incontinent needs to hospital and medical staff. Assists with or institutes emergency measures for sudden adverse developments in patients such as cardiac arrest or emergencies relating to the hyperbaric chamber environment. Participates in the maintenance of a clean and safe environment. Routinely evaluates the plan of care and revises as needed based on patient assessment Accurately documents interventions in an appropriate and timely manner Implements and documents patient and family teaching as part of the plan of care Contributes to the professional development of peers, colleagues, and others by sharing knowledge and skills, and by providing constructive feedback, regarding their practice Attentive to detail Promotes confidentiality and uses complete discretion when discussing information Floats to other areas as assigned, responds with a positive attitude Qualifications Education Required Associates or better in Nursing.
