Offers $10k-$30k in sign on bonuses and relocation assistance. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive nursing care to patients experiencing urgent and emergent health conditions within a fast-paced emergency department. Your expertise will ensure prompt assessment, stabilization, and treatment of patients across diverse medical scenarios. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in emergency medicine, critical care, and patient assessment, demonstrating a commitment to delivering exceptional care in high-pressure situations. This position offers an opportunity to work within a collaborative environment dedicated to improving patient outcomes through expert nursing practice. Responsibilities Perform rapid triage assessments to prioritize patient care based on acuity levels and clinical needs. Administer medications, including IV infusions and injections, following established protocols and safety standards. Manage airway patency, ventilators, and other life-support equipment during critical situations. Conduct thorough physical examinations and vital signs monitoring to inform diagnostic evaluation and treatment planning. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans. Document all patient interactions accurately using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Cerner or Epic. Assist with procedures including suturing, catheterization, tube feeding, and sterile processing techniques. Provide education and emotional support to patients and their families during stressful emergencies. Ensure infection control practices are maintained according to hospital standards. Participate in ongoing training related to trauma medicine, infectious disease care, and advanced life support protocols. Support discharge planning by coordinating follow-up care and providing health coaching when appropriate. Requirements Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license with current state licensure or equivalent certification. Minimum of two years of emergency room experience in a Level I or Level II trauma center preferred. Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Cerner or Epic for accurate medical documentation. Demonstrated expertise in critical care procedures including airway management, IV insertion, and aseptic technique. Experience with trauma medicine, acute pain management, and infectious disease care highly desirable. Knowledge of ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9) for diagnostic evaluation documentation. Strong assessment skills with the ability to perform complex physical examinations under pressure. Familiarity with laboratory experience, specimen collection/processing, and diagnostic evaluation tools. Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. Ability to work efficiently in high-stress environments while maintaining attention to detail. Additional certifications such as Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) are preferred.
