1 Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Coronary Care Unit (CCU) position in Louisville, KY, requiring an active KY or compact RN license and ACLS certification for a night shift contract. Details 18-bed Coronary Care Unit (CCU) within a hospital setting, caring for both critical care and telemetry patients Patient population ranges from young adults to geriatrics across varying acuity levels, including critical care, telemetry, and med-surg Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week Weekends required as needed per unit policy 36 hours per week Requirements Active, unrestricted RN license in Kentucky or a compact state currently in hand Required certifications: BLS and ACLS ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred Proficiency in medication administration, wound care, IV therapy, and operation of medical equipment Strong assessment, critical thinking, and prioritization skills in a fast-paced critical care environment Effective communication skills for collaboration with interdisciplinary teams and patient/family education Additional Information Nurses in this unit gain cross-acuity experience in critical care, telemetry, and med-surg nursing Responsibilities include comprehensive patient assessments, care planning, treatment implementation, and discharge coordination Participates in quality improvement initiatives including patient satisfaction, fall prevention, pressure ulcer management, and CAUTI reduction Delegates and oversees team members in patient care activities as appropriate within RN scope of practice Provides patient and family education tailored to comprehension level, culture, and age No prior CCU experience is explicitly required — first-time travelers and those building critical care skills may be considered
