1 Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring a KY or compact RN license and night shift availability including weekends and holidays. Details Hospital-based cardiovascular progressive care unit (PCU) setting in Louisville, KY Two-unit cardiovascular department consisting of the CVU (16 beds) and CVI (15 beds), providing intermediate care for cardiac surgery patients from pre-op through discharge Patient population includes cardiac surgery, pre/post-cardiac intervention (PTCA, cardioversion, generator implants, TAVR), and atypical chest pain patients requiring monitoring Night shift, 7p-7a, 12-hour shifts 36 hours per week Weekend and holiday coverage required per unit needs 13-week contract Requirements Active, unrestricted KY RN license or compact RN license currently in hand Current BLS certification required ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred Date of birth (MM/DD) and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration Additional Information Responsibilities include comprehensive patient assessments, care planning, patient and family education, care coordination, and facilitating admission, transfer, and discharge processes Nurses delegate and oversee team members in patient care activities and monitor accuracy of delegated care Active participation in unit-based quality improvement activities, including patient satisfaction, fall prevention, pressure ulcer prevention, and CAUTI reduction Nursing practice is evidence-based and guided by hospital policies, regulatory standards, and professional guidelines Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced cardiovascular intermediate care environment
