Registered Nurse - SICU Travel Alexandria, LA 13 weeks Shift - 7P-7
A Required Skills:
Strong critical care and ICU nursing experience (SICU preferred) Ventilator management and hemodynamic monitoring ACLS required (BLS required; CCRN preferred) Ability to work in high-stress, fast-paced travel assignments Excellent clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skills
Job Summary:
The SICU Travel Registered Nurse provides high-acuity, critical care to post-surgical and trauma patients in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit. The RN is responsible for continuous monitoring, complex clinical interventions, and coordination of care in a fast-paced critical care environment while supporting optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct nursing care to critically ill post-operative and surgical ICU patients, including continuous hemodynamic monitoring and rapid response to clinical changes Perform comprehensive patient assessments, interpret vital signs, labs, and diagnostic results to guide immediate clinical decision-making Administer and titrate high-alert medications such as vasopressors, sedatives, and pain management drugs per ICU protocols Manage ventilated patients, including airway support, suctioning, and collaboration with respiratory therapy Operate and monitor advanced ICU equipment such as arterial lines, central venous lines, cardiac monitors, and infusion pumps Collaborate with intensivists, surgeons, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans Respond to emergencies including code blues and rapid deteriorations with critical thinking and timely interventions Maintain accurate and timely electronic documentation in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards Ensure strict adherence to infection control, safety protocols, and ICU best practices Educate patients' families on critical conditions, procedures, and post-operative expectations #TB_RN #ZRHC Why TalentBurst?
