Full Job Description Description:
Position Summary:
Provides direct support to patients, physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners. Performs work utilizing best practices for licensed practical nurses. Contributes to a collaborative work environment where interactions with patients and co-workers are respectful and courteous. Job Specific Responsibilities Patient Interaction Communicates professionally with patients, in person and on the phone, to provide information regarding clinic visits, medical conditions, testing, procedures, medication, and other such related matters. Documentation Enters accurate notes into patient electronic charts. Completes Gmed tasks in the gGastro medical records system in a timely manner. Ensures tasks are routinely completed and that outstanding/pending tasks are kept below 100. Training Provides training to co-workers as needed. Attends training as required. Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Education:
High School diploma or equivalency Licensed Practical Nurse certification
Work Experience & Skills:
One year work experience in a medical clinic or surgery/procedure center is preferred. Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and medical records information systems is preferred. Must have good attention to detail. Customer service experience is required. Good verbal and written communication skills are required. Must be willing to follow directions to provide excellent patient care. Must be able to document information accurately in patient records.
