1 Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PACU position requiring PACU or Pre/Post Op background, night shift availability, and comfort floating to pediatric PACU. Details PACU setting within a large hospital supporting all major surgical services across 34 ORs on two floors Pre-op, Phase I, and Phase II recovery care provided to both adult and pediatric populations First floor includes 6 ORs, 2 cysto suites, a shared Pediatric GI/Lithotripsy room, and prep/recovery for CT/MRI with high pediatric volume Second floor includes 28 ORs servicing Endoscopy, Interventional Radiology, and Pulmonary Lab cases Specialized procedures include regional anesthesia and ECT Equipment used includes Hoyer lift, bladder scanner, and AccuVein Epic EMR experience is required Patient ratio of 1:2 Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (18:45-07:15) 2-3 weekends required per contract Floating to pediatric PACU required as needed Requirements Active LA RN license or Compact RN license currently in hand Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS PACU or Pre/Post Op nursing experience strongly preferred; Critical Care Post-Op experience is a plus Experience with Epic EMR required Must reside 65+ miles from the facility to be eligible for this position Additional Information Provide pre-op and Phase I and Phase II recovery care to patients of all ages across multiple surgical specialties In the event of an emergency, travelers may be assigned to an Emergency Team and expected to remain at the facility until the event passes or serve on the relief team; candidates uncomfortable with this expectation should not apply Any requested time off (RTO) must be discussed during the interview process All certifications must be issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
