Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Weekend Treatment Nurse to provide high-quality nursing care in a dynamic healthcare environment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong clinical background, including experience in a long-term care settings, with a focus on patient-centered care. This role offers an opportunity to work with diverse patient populations, including individuals with developmental disabilities, dementia, and complex medical needs. The Weekend Treatment Nurse will play a vital role in ensuring safe, effective, and compassionate care during weekend shifts, supporting continuity of treatment and recovery. Duties Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and physiological evaluations to inform treatment plans. Administer medications and injections accurately, including IV infusions, ensuring adherence to protocols and safety standards. Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems PCC for documentation of patient care activities and medical records management. Implement infection control practices and adhere to HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy and safety. Responsible for nursing care of assigned residents during his/her shift. Contact physicians and record physician's verbal orders. Transcribe physician's order accurately and assure follow-up as indicated. Re-cap physician's orders per facility policy. Recognize, interpret and report changes in resident's condition to DON. Provide education and health coaching to patients and families on medication administration, nutrition, and disease management strategies. Requirements Valid nursing license with current registration LPN or RN needed Demonstrated expertise in PCC. Ability to work independently during weekend shifts while maintaining high standards of patient safety and quality care. Excellent communication skills coupled with a compassionate approach to patient assessment and education.
