Minimum Qualifications Possession of a current Louisiana Practical Nurse license, a temporary permit, or a multi-state license issued by a Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC/eNLC) state. Administers and documents medications in accordance with established protocols, ensuring accuracy, safety, and compliance with all correctional healthcare standards. Prepares, organizes, and assists with on-site medical clinics , including general practice, gynecology, dental, dermatology, and psychiatric clinics as needed. Supports providers during examinations and procedures by preparing equipment, positioning patients, and maintaining a clean, efficient clinical environment. Conducts routine patient rounds to observe, assess, and monitor physical conditions, behaviors, and overall well-being. Identifies changes in health status, ensures timely follow-up, evaluates the quality of care delivered, and maintains thorough, accurate documentation of all assessments and treatments.Position-Specific Details:

JOB APPOINTMENT A
job appointment is a temporary job lasting up to four years; however, should a permanent position become available, the employee may be converted to a probational appointment. This position may also be filled as a probational appointment if a non-temporary position becomes available in the recruitment process. If filled by probation, a permanent classified LA State employee, if selected, may be required to accept a probational appointment.Compensation:
This position has a Special Entrance Rate (SER) at each level. However, the salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience. Practical Nurse -Licensed 1 has an SER of $20.20 per hour Practical Nurse -Licensed 1 has an SER of $21.60 per hour Practical Nurse -Licensed 1 has an SER of $24.31 per hour This position also offers premium pay: A rate of $5.00 per hour for each hour worked, in addition to regular pay.Career Progression Group :
