Cardiac and Medical Stepdown patients with complex needs
Pay & Benefits Pay Rate:
$50.25/hour (plus applicable stipends/differentials) Benefits include: Competitive pay packages Weekly pay schedule with direct deposit Medical benefits (W-2) Robust referral bonus program Paid sick time in accordance with applicable laws Licensure, certification, travel, and other reimbursements when applicable 24/7 dedicated support team What You'll Do Provide high-quality nursing care to cardiac and medical stepdown patients titrate cardiac medications, insulin, and vasopressors Manage chest tubes, trachs, central lines, and drains/tubes Support patient recovery from surgeries such as CABG, lung procedures, and cardiac interventions Monitor and respond to patient status changes effectively Pass an EKG competency exam prior to start Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including CNAs, techs, RTs, and hospitalists
What You Need Required:
RN license for City, State 2 years of recent PCU or stepdown nursing experience
BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
certifications Ability to pass EKG competency exam Key skills: titrating cardiac meds, central line management, wound care
Preferred:
LVAD certification (West unit) Experience with complex cardiac patients and telemetry monitoring About the Assignment This 13-week contract is based at a well-regarded hospital in City, State, with a diverse, traveler-friendly environment. The unit has 24-25 beds with a mix of cardiac and medical stepdown patients, offering a dynamic and supportive clinical setting. You will work a flexible schedule with every other weekend off, and be involved in critical patient care for complex cases, including post-surgical and ICU overflow. Orientation includes two days of hospital instruction plus two unit shifts, preparing you for success from day one.
