SEO Title Registered Nurse (RN) - Telemetry in Madison, WI | 12H Days Hook Join a brand-new Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit with strong learning opportunities and supportive clinical resources. Competitive Pay Packages Weekly Pay Schedule via Direct Deposit (W-2) Comprehensive Medical Benefits (W-2) Robust Referral Bonus Program 24/7 dedicated team committed to your success throughout your time with VHS Paid sick time in accordance with applicable state/federal/local laws Licensure/Certification/Travel and other reimbursements when applicable What You'll Do Provide professional nursing care for patients on a new Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit Manage care for a mix of diagnoses including sepsis, cellulitis, DVT/PE, CHF, COPD, COVID, and pneumonia Support post-operative overflow care including Total Joints (knees/hips/shoulders) and common GI/abdominal surgeries Maintain safe, high-quality monitoring and interventions for telemetry patient populations Perform and document skilled nursing tasks including wound management and advanced therapies Support care plans involving devices/therapies such as JP drains, wound vacs, PCA, and pain management Complete required compliance steps (including an EKG competency exam prior to arrival ) What You Need Required RN license 2 years of acute care Med/Surg/Telemetry experience
BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
Ability to PASS an EKG competency exam prior to arrival (required for compliance) Preferred Experience with one or more of the following (as applicable to the unit): Wound care and wound vacs Hemodialysis catheter care and fistulas PCA and advanced symptom/pain management About the Assignment This assignment is on a brand-new Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit at a growing facility with 18 beds . Patients include complex medical conditions such as sepsis, CHF/COPD, respiratory infections, and thromboembolic events, along with occasional post-operative overflow. The facility emphasizes education and onboarding, with a combination of hospital and unit orientation.
