Job Description

Job Summary:
Garden City Pediatrics seeks dynamic and enthusiastic pediatric nurse (RN or LPN) for 32 hr/wk full-time position involving direct patient care and phone triage. Candidate should have good communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast paced environment . Experience preferred but willing to train the right candidate. Excellent benefits and competitive pay. Duties Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history reviews. Administer medications, injections, IV infusions, and other treatments following established protocols and safety standards. Manage complex care needs such as wound care, catheterization, tube feeding, ventilator management, and pain control. Pediatric phone triage providing the rapid assessment and prioritization of infants, children, and adolescents seeking medical care. Document all patient interactions accurately in electronic health record (EHR) systems ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Assist in diagnostic evaluations including specimen collection/processing and medical imaging procedures. Provide patient education on health management, medication administration, discharge planning, and post-acute care instructions. Requirements Valid nursing license with current registration in the relevant jurisdiction. Proven experience in critical care environments such as ICU or Level I Trauma Centers preferred. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding, and infection control protocols. Ability to perform physical examinations and assessments accurately while demonstrating excellent patient care skills. Strong communication skills for effective triage and case management across diverse healthcare settings including outpatient clinics and home & community care environments.
Pay:
$27.77 - $33.44 per hour
