Residential Reports to: Director of Nursing Position Overview The Registered Nurse is responsible for ensuring the quality assurance of health care services, providing case management , clinical consultation , and training to staff, families, and individuals served by the Residential Department of CRC. The HealthCare Supervisor will directly supervise Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) within the department. This role requires flexible hours to meet the needs of the individuals served. Essential Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned as needed.) Quality Assurance Develop and interpret medical/nursing policies and procedures to ensure consistent application across programs. Ensure compliance with best practices, state, and federal requirements . Conduct periodic audits of health care record-keeping and develop tools for documentation. Develop individualized health care plans in collaboration with healthcare providers. Ensure proper implementation of health care plans by conducting audits and training program staff. Collect and analyze health-related data to assess compliance and identify areas for improvement. Organize and participate in interdisciplinary HealthCare Oversight Committees to review the health management of individuals within CRC. Nursing Consultation, Case Management & Coordination Provide nursing consultation to program management, supervisory staff, individuals, and families. Serve as a resource for health care access , ensuring individuals receive appropriate medical care. Manage case coordination for individuals with complex or acute health care needs. Attend medical appointments and case conferences when complex health issues arise. Conduct on-site health assessments and treatments as needed. Assess individuals' ability to self-medicate and provide appropriate guidance. Develop and maintain relationships with healthcare providers to facilitate quality care. Stay updated on third-party insurance, Medicare, and Medicaid regulations to assist in coverage and benefits navigation. Participate in discharge planning for individuals transitioning into CRC residential homes. Develop systems for comprehensive oversight to ensure continuous quality improvement in health care services. Health Care Training & Compliance Provide Medication Administration Certification (MAP) training for CRC staff, including exam preparation and refresher courses. Ensure compliance with MAP and Department of Public Health (DPH) regulations . Stay current with DDS, DPH, and MAP regulations to maintain CRC's compliance. Conduct training on infectious disease management, epilepsy care, and modified diets . Participate in new staff orientation to educate on health-related practices. Collaborate with other CRC departments to ensure individuals' health, safety, and well-being. Additional Responsibilities Provide emergency first aid and accompany individuals to emergency medical services as needed. Work with DDS and DPH health care personnel to refine community service health policies. Assist in ordering and managing health care equipment and supplies .

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
Licensure:
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts .
Experience:
Minimum two years of nursing experience in a healthcare facility, school, or community setting. Preference for experience with developmental disabilities, nursing homes, or DDS/DPH regulations .
Training Certification:
Ability to obtain Medication Administration Program (MAP) Trainer Certification within six months of employment.
Legal & Compliance:
Must authorize Criminal History Background Check (CORI) and release information from DPPC, DDS, and other regulatory agencies .
Physical Ability:
Capable of performing essential job duties, with reasonable accommodations as needed.
Driver's License & Transportation:
Valid Massachusetts driver's license and access to reliable transportation.
Technical Skills:
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and electronic health records (EHR). Language Skills Must be fluent in English with the ability to read and interpret medical and procedural documents. Ability to write advanced reports and effectively communicate with individuals, families, and staff. Capable of delivering presentations in individual and group settings. Physical Demands The job requires significant endurance to perform physical tasks. Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, and crouch . Frequent use of hands and arms for handling medical tools and documentation. Must be able to lift and maneuver up to 100 pounds (assistance available as needed). Capable of lifting 30 pounds from floor to waist and 10-15 pounds overhead . Reasoning Ability Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions . Demonstrates critical thinking and problem-solving skills in complex situations.
