Shore Educational Collaborative has an opening a School Nurse for the 2026-27 school year in our new location in Cambridge.
Job description:
Shore Educational Collaborative provides diverse educational programs for special needs students from 3 through 22 years of age. Our programs are specialized to meet the needs of the students we serve. Our mission is to provide the highest quality education, offering the student maximum opportunity to develop life skills, achieve academic goals and whenever possible to transition into a public school setting.
At this time, the position is school year only, however, summer work is available and may be required in the future.
Job Requirements:
Must have pediatric experience and will work with students aged 3 to 22 with a variety of special needs ranging from physical to mental health needs.
Assess the condition and treatment needs for injured or ill students or staff.
Demonstrate an understanding of child development relevant to the age group of clients in various services.
Massachusetts Registered Nurse license is required. Additional certification from the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education is preferable, but not necessary. The School Nurse will be a part of the Massachusetts State or Teachers' Retirement System, depending on licensure. They will also receive sick and personal time along with medical, dental, vision and options to elect for Short-Term and Long-Term Disability.

All school staff who may be expected to manage behavior must obtain and maintain certification in Shore's approved behavioral safety training program (Safety Care or equivalent). These skills are essential to ensuring the safety of all program participants and staff, and to meet state and federal requirements related to the safe implementation of behavior intervention plans.
