Job Description
Oncology Infusion Nurse Shift - (4) 10 hours days; Mon 7a start, Tues 8am start, Thur 7am start, Friday 6:30am start. No weekends or holidays. Job Summary Join our dynamic healthcare team as an Oncology Infusion Nurse, where you will play a vital role in delivering specialized infusion therapies to patients battling cancer. Duties Prepare and administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and other infusion medications following strict aseptic techniques and safety protocols. Monitor patient responses during infusion sessions, assessing vital signs, managing symptoms, and addressing any adverse reactions promptly. Educate patients and their families on treatment procedures, potential side effects, and self-care strategies to foster understanding and comfort. Document all patient interactions accurately within EHR systems, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans that incorporate oncology protocols and patient needs. Assist with triage assessments for patients experiencing symptoms or complications related to their treatment or disease progression. Maintain a sterile environment through proper catheter care, IV insertion, and specimen collection/processing to prevent infections. Qualifications Valid nursing license (RN) with current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS). Chemo certification required Proven experience in oncology infusion therapy.
