00 This travel Operating Room RN assignment is based in a welcoming community in Fall River, Massachusetts, a coastal city that blends historic New England charm with convenient access to major metropolitan areas. Situated along the Taunton River, the area offers beautiful waterfront views, walking paths, and easy access to nearby beaches and coastal towns. Living and working here allows you to enjoy a rich mix of outdoor activities, local dining, and cultural attractions, all while being within driving distance of Providence, Newport, and Boston. Fall River is known for its maritime history and distinctive mill architecture, as well as attractions such as Battleship Cove and the USS Massachusetts, local museums, and seasonal festivals. The city's neighborhoods offer a variety of cafes, bakeries, and restaurants, making it easy to explore local flavors between shifts. With a reasonable cost of living compared to larger cities, and plenty of opportunities for weekend getaways throughout New England, this assignment is an excellent choice for travelers looking to combine a rewarding OR role with memorable off-duty experiences. The hospital is a full-service, acute care community facility with approximately 196 beds and a strong reputation for patient safety and quality of care. It has earned recognition including a Patient Safety Excellence Award and other quality distinctions, reflecting a culture that prioritizes safe, coordinated, and compassionate care. The perioperative services department is well-established and known for its collaborative, team-focused environment where nursing input is valued and supported by engaged leadership. As a travel OR RN, you will join a dynamic operating room team that includes experienced surgeons, anesthesiologists, CRNAs, surgical technologists, and fellow nurses. The OR supports a broad range of surgical specialties, which may include general surgery, orthopedics, gynecology, urology, ENT, laparoscopic and minimally invasive procedures, and other elective and urgent cases based on community needs. This variety offers a valuable opportunity to maintain and expand your perioperative skill set in a supportive, safety-conscious environment. Typical responsibilities will include circulating in assigned OR rooms, ensuring safe patient positioning and preparation, overseeing sterile field maintenance, coordinating equipment and supplies, supporting anesthesia and surgical teams, and advocating for the patient throughout the perioperative journey. You will participate actively in preoperative briefings, time outs, and postoperative debriefings, and contribute to ongoing initiatives aimed at reducing complications, optimizing workflows, and enhancing patient experience. A typical day may involve caring for several surgical patients across multiple cases, depending on case length and complexity. You can expect to work closely with the charge nurse and clinical nurse manager to coordinate room assignments, manage daily workflow, and respond to changing priorities such as add-on or emergent cases. The OR runs multiple rooms, and you will collaborate with a cohesive team that values clear communication, mutual respect, and shared responsibility for a smooth, efficient schedule. Shifts are designed to support consistent coverage of the surgical schedule and may include day shifts with potential early start times, as well as some requirement for call, weekends, or holidays depending on departmental needs. The hospital uses a modern electronic medical record system, and support is available to help travelers quickly become comfortable with documentation and order entry workflows. This assignment is well-suited for an experienced OR RN who thrives in a fast-paced setting, enjoys being part of a close-knit team, and wants to contribute meaningfully to patient safety and quality outcomes. The combination of a recognized, patient-focused hospital and a scenic, culturally rich New England community makes this an appealing opportunity for travelers looking to grow professionally while enjoying all that coastal Massachusetts and the surrounding region have to offer.
