Job Details:
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required
  • Operating room nursing experience and CNOR certification strongly preferred
  • Current Massachusetts RN license required
  • ACLS certification upon hire OR must hold active BLS card and obtain
AHA ACLS
within 60 days of hire
  • Ability to function in an environment with competing priorities
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to multitask required
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing interventions and patient care plans
  • Provide patient care based on standards of care, protocols, and established policies
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, clinical coordinators, and surgical technicians
  • Maintain sterile fields and direct proper care, handling, and sterilization of supplies and instruments
  • Verify patient identification, consent forms, operative procedures, and surgical sites
  • principles of aseptic practice and oversee preparation of surgical supplies and equipment
  • Maintain accurate sponge, needle, and instrument counts according to policies
  • Safely administer medications and intravenous therapy per physician orders
  • Assess patient pain levels using numerical pain scale and reassess medication effectiveness
  • Complete thorough and timely documentation of patient data and therapeutic interventions
  • Provide patient and family teaching based on identified learning needs
  • Comply with hospital attendance and tardiness policies
  • Complete all mandatory hospital and department-specific requirements
