Aug 31, 2026 Job Description Health Office Aide The Health Office Aide provides clerical, organizational, and student support services within the school health office. Working under the direction of the licensed school nurses, the Health Office Aide assists with daily operations of the health office, maintains confidential student records, supports student health needs, and helps ensure a safe and healthy school environment.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or coursework in health sciences, medical assisting, or administrative support preferred.
  • Health care, school health office, medical office, or administrative experience preferred.
  • CPR/First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
  • Proficiency with computers, email, google platform, and student information systems.
  • Ability to work effectively with adolescents, families, faculty, and staff in a diverse school environment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience working in a school, vocational school, medical office, or pediatric setting.
  • Knowledge of Massachusetts school health regulations and procedures.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical or student record systems.
  • Bilingual skills are a plus.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
1.Provide administrative and clerical support to the school health office. 2.Greet students, staff, parents/guardians, and visitors in a professional and courteous manner. 3.Maintain accurate and confidential student health records in accordance with school policies, FERPA, and HIPAA guidelines. 4.Assist with student check-in/check-out related to illness or injury. 5.Answer phones, respond to emails, and communicate routine information to families and staff. 6.Monitor and maintain health office supplies, inventory, and equipment. 7.Assist the school nurse with documentation, filing, data entry, and state-required reporting. 8.Support scheduling and administration of student screenings 9.Maintain logs of student visits, medications, and incidents as directed by the school nurse. 10.Assist in coordinating emergency contact information and student medical documentation. 11.Provide basic first-response assistance within the scope of training until the nurse arrives. 12.Support compliance with school safety, health, and infection-control procedures. 13.Perform other related duties as assigned by administration or the school nurse. 14.Assist in the process of preparing for school field trips including organization of documentation. 15.Any other duties as required by the Director of Pupil Personnel, Administration and his/her designee.
SALARY AND WORKING CONDITIONS
10-month position Salary Range according to Support Staff Contract ($30.93/hr. - $34.95/hr. depending on experience)
