1 Description American Traveler is hiring a Float Psychiatric RN for an evening shift position at a behavioral health hospital in Holyoke, MA, requiring one year of inpatient psych experience and an active MA RN license. Details Inpatient behavioral health hospital setting specializing in psychiatric and co-occurring substance use treatment Adolescent and adult psychiatric patient population Float position requiring willingness to move to similar or lower acuity units as needed Evening shift: 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM (8-hour shifts) Full-time, 40 hours per week Every other weekend required Every other holiday required Charge nurse responsibilities included Requirements Active MA RN license currently in hand CPR/BLS certification required Minimum 1 year of adult and adolescent inpatient psychiatric experience required BSN preferred Experience with restraint reduction, de-escalation, and crisis intervention preferred Proficiency with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems required Strong critical thinking, time management, and crisis management skills Ability to develop therapeutic relationships while maintaining professional boundaries Additional Information Provide direct and indirect patient care within a multidisciplinary treatment team framework Contribute to individualized treatment plans by developing, implementing, and documenting goals and interventions informed by patient strengths and presenting psychiatric issues Care is grounded in a Trauma Informed Recovery model 84-bed inpatient facility with a collaborative, non-judgmental team environment Charge nurse duties are expected and included in the standard rate — no additional multiplier
