Job Description

Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our critical care team for night coverage in our 10-bed ICU. This position offers the opportunity to work in a community hospital setting, providing comprehensive care to patients in a general medical ICU. The ideal candidate will be confident managing acutely ill patients independently, with physician backup available via pager. Schedule is 7 on 7 off (175 shifts per year) from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
Responsibilities:
Provide overnight coverage for the ICU, including assessment, diagnosis, and management of critically ill patients. Perform and manage critical care procedures such as endotracheal intubation, central line placement, and arterial line insertion (with back up from ED and Anesthesia physicians) Collaborate closely with nursing staff, respiratory therapists, and attending physicians to ensure high-quality patient care. Respond to emergent situations and code blue calls as needed. Document all patient encounters accurately and timely in the electronic medical record (EMR).
Qualifications:
Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant. Minimum of 1 year of critical care experience in an ICU setting required. Proficiency with critical care procedures, including intubation and central line placement. Strong clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skills. ACLS certification required
