$2164 to $2287 per week Position Overview Merrimack Health Methuen Hospital is seeking an experienced Psychiatric Registered Nurse (RN) to join the St. Dymphna's Behavioral Health Unit for a 13-week assignment. This position offers the opportunity to provide compassionate, patient-centered psychiatric care within an inpatient behavioral health setting. The ideal candidate will have strong assessment skills, behavioral health experience, and the ability to effectively manage patients with a variety of psychiatric and mental health conditions. Unit Information Inpatient Psychiatric Unit (St. Dymphna's) 22-bed behavioral health unit Current average census: approximately 12 patients Collaborative multidisciplinary treatment environment Responsibilities Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized psychiatric nursing care plans. Monitor patients for changes in mental status, behavior, and emotional well-being. Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately. Perform patient assessments and document findings in accordance with facility policies. Assist with crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques when necessary. Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, social workers, and interdisciplinary team members. Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, and discharge planning. Maintain a safe therapeutic environment for patients and staff. Ensure accurate and timely electronic medical record documentation. Required Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license. Minimum 3 years of Psychiatric Nursing experience. Previous inpatient behavioral health or psychiatric unit experience. Strong communication, assessment, and critical-thinking skills. Ability to manage patients experiencing acute psychiatric conditions.
