Job Description

Category Schools - RN Nurse Job Type Contract Take on a rewarding opportunity supporting a student who requires dedicated care as a 1:1 school nurse. This contract position involves providing support on the bus and during transitions for a student who has seizures, uses a wheelchair, and is non-verbal. Your compassionate expertise will ensure their safety and well-being throughout the school week. You'll work Monday through Friday, accompanying the student from 7am to 9am in the morning, and again during afternoon bus pickup from 2:30pm to 4:30pm (with occasional extension as needed). This assignment begins as soon as possible, offering a meaningful way to apply your nursing skills in a school-based role.
Key qualifications and experience:
Current RN, LPN, or LVN licensure in Massachusetts Experience in a school setting or with pediatric populations is highly desirable Comfortable supporting students with significant physical and medical needs, including seizure management Strong communication, observation, and documentation skills Ability to monitor and respond quickly to medical emergencies Calm, patient, and professional demeanor Responsibilities for this role include: Monitoring and supporting the student during bus transit to and from school Responding promptly and effectively in the event of a seizure or medical emergency Assisting with wheelchair transfers and maintaining safety throughout transitions Documenting any incidents and daily care provided Acting as a liaison and communicating updates to families and school staff as needed This role offers a competitive pay rate of $50 per hour and the satisfaction of making a significant impact on a student's daily experience.
