Nantucket High School has an opening for [1] Nursing teacher to join our caring and innovative community for the 2026-2027 school year. Our ideal candidate is committed to growing our nursing education program, which includes three levels as well as overseeing internship placements. In the classroom, our candide is committed to differentiating instruction, keeping student voice at the center of instruction, and developing a classroom learning environment centered on inquiry.
Minimum Requirements:
Knowledge of Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks (
CTE Healthcare Career Cluster:
Dental/Health/Medical Assisting)Bachelors DegreeDESE MA certification or the ability to be certified as a Voc Tech Teacher in
Health or Medical AssistingIdeal Candidate:
Experience in teaching within a high school nursing program, preferredPassion for teaching nursingStrong nursing content knowledgeKnowledge about High School pedagogy and the developmental needs of studentsAbility to assess learning using a variety of methodsStrong foundation in student-centered and culturally responsive pedagogyKnowledge of differentiated instruction and response to interventionExcellent classroom management skillsSEI endorsement or willingness to complete the course at your own expenseAbility to collaborate with teachers and administrators
