  • Lactation Consultant Program Coordinator for a leading acute care teaching hospital in Pittsfield, Massachusetts .
This opportunity is ideal for healthcare professionals with extensive lactation consulting experience, inpatient and outpatient lactation program expertise, and a passion for providing comprehensive breastfeeding education and support to mothers and families while collaborating with interdisciplinary healthcare teams..

Yes Responsibilities Provide expert assessment, consultation, treatment planning, and leadership oversight for optimal lactation management in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Conduct comprehensive lactation assessments for mothers and infants with advanced breastfeeding support needs. Develop and implement individualized interdisciplinary care plans and communicate recommendations to the healthcare team. Provide prenatal and postpartum lactation education and counseling to patients and families. Support breastfeeding initiation, continuation, and problem-solving strategies. Coordinate and oversee inpatient lactation programs and services. Serve as a clinical resource and educator for healthcare staff regarding evidence-based lactation practices. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes. Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the Meditech Expanse electronic medical record system. Adhere to hospital policies, patient safety standards, and evidence-based lactation practices. Licensure Active Massachusetts License Required. This position will also consider the following licensed professionals, provided all job requirements are met: Registered Nurse (RN) Occupational Therapist (OT) Physical Therapist (PT) Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) Pharmacist Experience Requirements Minimum 1 year of experience as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC/BCLC)
  • Equivalent certifications are not accepted. Minimum 2,500 hours as a Breastfeeding Consultant
  • Required. Experience with Inpatient Lactation Programs
  • Required. Experience providing Outpatient Prenatal and Postpartum Lactation Education, Consultations, and Teaching
  • Required. Meditech Expanse experience
  • Strongly Preferred. Previous travel healthcare experience
  • Preferred.
Traveler must have reliable transportation and their own vehicle. Required Certifications International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC/BCLC) Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Certification Board Certification Required All certifications must be in hand and included at profile submission.
