Local Pay:
$60•64/hour ($2,160•2,304/week) based on experience Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a Med Surg/Telemetry Float Pool assignment with hospital setting. The RN will provide comprehensive patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation while delivering high-quality, patient-centered care across multiple medical-surgical and specialty units as needed. Responsibilities Deliver safe and effective nursing care utilizing the nursing process. Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including physical, psychosocial, and discharge planning evaluations. Develop, implement, and update individualized patient care plans. Administer medications and monitor patient responses to treatments and interventions. Maintain accurate, timely, and complete patient documentation within the electronic medical record. Monitor telemetry patients and recognize changes in cardiac rhythms and patient conditions. Collaborate with physicians, therapists, case managers, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams. Serve as a resource and mentor for nursing staff and ancillary personnel. Assume charge nurse responsibilities when assigned. Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and performance improvement initiatives. Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatments, medications, and discharge instructions. Adhere to infection prevention, patient safety, and regulatory standards. Float between designated medical-surgical and specialty units based on staffing and patient care needs. Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and exceptional customer service standards. Required Qualifications Education Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred. Licensure & Certifications Active Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) License required. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required. Successful completion of facility-required Pharmacology Examination prior to start date. Successful completion of facility-required Basic Arrhythmia Examination prior to start date. Experience Minimum two (2) years of recent Med Surg experience in an acute care hospital setting required. Telemetry experience required. Experience caring for adult medical-surgical patients required. Experience floating between multiple inpatient units preferred. Cardiac patient management experience preferred. Skills & Competencies Strong medical-surgical nursing assessment and critical-thinking skills. Proficiency in telemetry monitoring and arrhythmia recognition. Knowledge of acute care nursing practices and standards. Strong medication administration and patient monitoring skills. Excellent communication, teamwork, and interpersonal abilities. Ability to prioritize multiple patient needs in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with electronic medical record systems and nursing informatics. Commitment to quality outcomes, patient safety, and evidence-based practice. Preferred Qualifications Cardiac/Telemetry Experience Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification preferred. Experience managing telemetry, post-cardiac intervention, and cardiac surgery patients preferred. Experience with post-cardiac catheterization and pacemaker patients preferred. Cardiac catheterization course completion preferred. Oncology Experience Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certification preferred. Chemotherapy practicum experience preferred. Surgical/Dialysis Experience Experience caring for hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis patients preferred. Experience caring for ventilated patients preferred. Experience with procedural sedation preferred. CAPD Certification preferred. Drug Certification preferred. Orthopedic/Neuro Experience Orthopedic nursing certification preferred. Experience caring for orthopedic, neurological, post-operative, and surgical patients preferred. Additional Information Float Pool assignment supporting multiple acute care inpatient units. Every other weekend required. Rotating holiday coverage required. Opportunity to work with diverse patient populations across multiple specialties.
