Job Description

Join Our Team! We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced MDS Nurse (RN) to join our skilled nursing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong clinical background, a thorough understanding of the MDS process, and a commitment to ensuring accurate resident assessments, regulatory compliance, and optimal reimbursement. Position Summary The MDS Nurse is responsible for coordinating and completing the Minimum Data Set (MDS) assessments in accordance with federal and state regulations. This role works closely with the interdisciplinary team to ensure accurate care planning, quality outcomes, and compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, and other reimbursement requirements. Responsibilities Coordinate, complete, and submit MDS assessments accurately and within required timeframes. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and facility regulations related to the Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) process. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to gather assessment data and develop individualized care plans. Review resident documentation to ensure accuracy and support appropriate reimbursement. Monitor Medicare and Medicaid regulations and communicate updates to relevant staff. Participate in care plan meetings and resident reviews. Conduct chart audits and documentation reviews to ensure regulatory compliance. Assist with survey preparation and regulatory inspections. Provide education and guidance to nursing staff regarding documentation requirements and MDS processes. Work closely with facility leadership to support quality improvement initiatives. Qualifications Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing. Previous MDS experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting preferred. Knowledge of RAI, Medicare, Medicaid, PDPM, and long-term care regulations. Strong assessment, analytical, and organizational skills. Excellent communication and collaboration abilities. Proficiency with electronic medical records and MDS software systems. Ability to manage deadlines and prioritize multiple responsibilities. Pay:
$48.00 - $50.00 per hour
