1 Description American Traveler is hiring a Psychiatric RN for a Transitional Support Services addiction recovery unit in Tewksbury, MA, with a weekend-only day shift schedule and a local candidates requirement. Details Work setting is a Transitional Support Services (TSS) facility focused on addiction recovery and bridging the gap between detox and community living Patients include adults in post-acute withdrawal, co-occurring mental health disorders, and recovery from substance use disorders Clinical focus includes Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), psycho-educational groups, relapse prevention, and case management Schedule is a 6-hour day shift (8:30 AM - 3:00 PM), working Saturdays and Sundays only, for 36 hours per week No floating required No charge nurse responsibilities required Requirements Active MA RN license currently in hand Current BLS certification required Psychiatric nursing experience required, ideally with an addiction recovery background Previous travel experience is not required COVID vaccine and booster required; flu vaccine required during flu season (medical exemptions allowed) Additional Information Responsibilities include monitoring patients for post-acute withdrawal symptoms, managing co-occurring mental health conditions, and assessing overall health stability Medication management duties include overseeing self-administered medications, administering MAT (e.g., buprenorphine, naltrexone), and providing overdose prevention training RNs lead psycho-educational groups, teach relapse prevention strategies, and educate patients on addiction, recovery, and healthy living skills Collaborates with an interdisciplinary team including counselors and physicians to develop individualized treatment plans, coordinate aftercare, and facilitate outpatient referrals Responsibilities include maintaining a safe, structured environment, conducting drug testing, and ensuring program compliance An in-person interview is required Candidates must reside within 50 miles of the facility to be eligible All previous Beth Israel Lahey Health employees (travel, permanent, or per diem) must have a minimum 6-month break from any BILH-affiliated facility before being considered
