Full Job Description SUMMARY:
Wakefield Public Schools is seeking a passionate and dedicated School Nurse to cover the needs of all the schools across the district with a primary location at the Woodville Elementary. This position is for 5 full days per week position
QUALIFICATIONS
Registered Nurse (RN) license in MA DESE license as a School Nurse highly preferred CPR and First Aid certification. Experience in pediatric or school nursing is highly desirable.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide comprehensive health care to students, including first aid and emergency care. Administer prescribed medications and maintain accurate records. Conduct health screenings and assessments for vision, hearing, and developmental issues. Develop and implement individual health care plans for students with special medical needs. Monitor and manage communicable diseases, following public health guidelines. Maintain student health records in compliance with state and federal regulations. Educate students, staff, and parents on health-related topics and promote wellness programs. Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to address student health concerns. Participate in the development of school health policies and procedures. Ensure the school's health office is well-equipped and maintained. Coordinate with local healthcare providers and community resources for student referrals.
