they would need to pick up two/three shifts as a floor nurse. The Nurse Educator plans, develops and coordinates continuing nursing in-service education programs within the facility for all clinical and non-clinical nursing staff.

• RESPONSIBILITIES and DUTIES Maintain an infection prevention and control program designed to provide a safe, sanitary and comfortable environment and to help prevent the development and transmission of communicable diseases and infections. Monitors all aspects of employee health
• including organizing and maintaining employee health files.

Establishes criteria for all in-service education programs constructing the curriculum, course outlines, objectives, teaching methods, examinations, and evaluation tools for each program. Assesses the educational needs of employees in collaboration with the Director of Nursing, Supervisors, and other personnel. Conducts general orientation of new staff. Conducts on going education/competencies for all employee education of staff and consultation within the organization, CDC, and the county and state health departments. Ensures compliance with Joint Commission standards, CMS, OSHA, state regulations, and outbreak investigation. Skills Knowledge of geriatric and general chronic care principles and professional standards of nursing practice and ability to apply to resident-specific circumstances. Able to identify, implement and evaluate appropriate objectives and interventions for resident. Current knowledge of laws and regulations that influence provision of care and services in nursing facilities. Expert Oral Communication. Team player

Inspired to perform well by the ability to contribute to the success of a project or the organization Education/Certification Current Massachusetts State Registered Nursing license without restrictions a must. BSN preferred. Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing. Two years of professional nursing experience in a long-term care environment required. Two (2) years clinical experience in a hospital setting combined with/or related to teaching experience and disease surveillance experience in a public health setting. Current Health Care Provider CPR CertificationQualification/Skills a plus. Experience in DOH survey process (preferred but not required). Equal Opportunity Employer
