Wareham, MA Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:00
PM Pay Range:
$37/ hr - $42/hour Position Summary The Registered Nurse (RN) oversees healthcare services for individuals with developmental disabilities within our Day Program, ensuring quality medical care, medication management, health monitoring, and coordination with physicians, families, and interdisciplinary team members. The RN also provides staff training on health-related topics and supports each individual's overall health, safety, and well-being. Key Responsibilities Administer, monitor, and document medications, including dosage, side effects, interactions, and required blood level monitoring. Coordinate medical care with physicians, healthcare providers, guardians, residential staff, and service coordinators. Monitor consumer health status, including vital signs, weight tracking, and nursing assessments. Develop and maintain nursing care plans, medical records, emergency documentation, and health-related reports. Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, case reviews, and development of individual support goals. Provide staff training on CPR, First Aid, infection control, bloodborne pathogens, medication-related issues, and special dietary needs. Ensure compliance with agency policies, healthcare regulations, and funding source requirements. Support positive behavioral interventions and assist individuals who may exhibit challenging behaviors. Promote community integration and support individuals' social, recreational, and employment goals. Qualifications Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts. Minimum one year of experience in a community health setting. Minimum one year of experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities. Knowledge of medications used for seizure disorders and behavioral health conditions. Strong organizational, communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record. Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred. Bilingual Portuguese skills are a plus.
