MDS Coordinator MDS Coordinator RNJob SummaryWe are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented MDS Coordinator to join our team at Stadium Place Nursing & Rehab Center in Baltimore, MD. As a key member of our clinical team, you will be responsible for coordinating the implementation of our care plans, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing exceptional care to our residents. Responsibilities:
Participates in prospective residents' admission process in terms of their nursing needs andappropriate placement.
  • Determines potential Resource Utilization Groups (RUGS) and expense associated with a potentialadmission.
  • Reviews all applications for admission, followed by on-site or phone assessment and communicateresults of assessment to the Admissions Coordinator.
  • Complete and assure the accuracy of the MDS process for all residents.
  • Maintain current working knowledge of Medicare criteria, serving as a resource for nursing staff andcommunicate changes in regulations.
  • Monitor Case Mix Index (CMI) scores, looking for potential risks and/or changes that may affectMedicaid Reimbursement.
  • Facilitate problem-solving for complicated admissions.
  • Monitor Medicare assessment schedules and nursing documentation to ensure accuracy and timelysubmission.
  • Develops care plans and assessment schedules for residents.
  • Utilizing the
RAI, MDS
3.0, QM, CBQM, and MBP manuals to inform activities and assessments
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing along with a valid state nursing license.
  • Medical terminology knowledge.
  • Exceptional mathematical skills and ability to apply them to tasks such as analysis of variance and sampling theory.
  • Previous experience in a clinical and healthcare setting; experience as an MDS coordinator preferred.
  • An understanding of the MDS 3.0 assessments and procedures.
  • Knowledge of state and federal regulations.
