Job Description

Nurse Practitioner -Behavioral Health- Weekends Summary Join Sinai Hospital Nurse Practitioner serving our geriatric behavioral health patients. as a Nurse Practioner you will diagnose and manage acute, chronic, and preventive healthcare needs through comprehensive patient assessments, examinations, and treatment planning. This position will need to support two weekends a month. Why join Sinai Hospital? Responsibilities:
Diagnose and manage acute, chronic, and preventive healthcare needs through comprehensive patient assessments, examinations, and treatment planning. Rounding on established patients (20-22 patients a day) and comprehensive assessments on new admissions. Prescribe medications, including controlled substances when appropriate, and collaborate with physicians and specialists for referrals and complex care need. Maintain accurate, complete, and timely medical documentation in compliance with regulatory requirements, organizational policies, and quality standards. Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care, monitor patient progress, and advocate for patient needs. Respond to patient concerns, emergencies, and crises using established protocols while providing medical guidance in person and by telephone as needed. Demonstrate leadership through mentoring staff, participating in team meetings and educational programs, maintaining clinical competency, and supporting a culture of teamwork, compliance, and patient-centered care. Required Qualifications Current Maryland Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP) or Psych NP license required Current Maryland Controlled Dangerous Substances (CDS) license or eligibility to obtain licensure. Active DEA Controlled Substance Registration. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
