$55/hr Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Intermediate Care Unit (IMC) Registered Nurse with strong Cardiac Telemetry and Progressive Care experience. This role provides care for adult and geriatric patients with cardiovascular and complex medical conditions requiring advanced monitoring and specialized nursing interventions. The ideal candidate will have experience in IMC, PCU, Step-Down, or Telemetry settings and be comfortable caring for cardiac patients, managing telemetry monitoring, cardiac drips, and responding to rapidly changing patient conditions. Key Responsibilities
- Patient Care Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in an Intermediate Care and Cardiac Telemetry environment.
Perform detailed patient assessments and develop individualized care plans. Monitor, evaluate, and document patient progress and responses to treatment. Recognize changes in patient condition and initiate timely interventions. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes. Cardiac & Telemetry Nursing Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and telemetry findings. Identify and manage dysrhythmias and cardiac emergencies.
Care for patients with:
Coronary Artery Disease (CAD) Chest Pain
STEMI/NSTEMI
Congestive Heart Failure (CHF) Hypertension (HTN) Atrial Fibrillation (AFib) Cardiac Arrhythmias Post Pacemaker Placement Post Cardiac Stent Procedures Utilize rapid response and emergency protocols when indicated. Intermediate Care & Step-Down Nursing Manage patients requiring close observation and advanced monitoring. Care for post-procedural cardiac patients and complex medical cases. Assist with pre
- and post-cardiac catheterization care.
Monitor patients receiving specialized cardiac therapies and interventions. Provide care for patients with respiratory, renal, and neurological conditions. IV Therapy & Medication Administration Start and maintain peripheral IV access. Manage central lines and PICC lines. Administer blood products and IV medications.
Monitor and manage:
Heparin Protocols Amiodarone Drips Cardizem Drips IV Insulin Protocols Cardiac Infusions (Non-Titrated) Evaluate patient responses to medication therapies. Respiratory & Critical Care Support Administer oxygen therapy and monitor respiratory status.
Manage patients receiving:
BiPAP CPAP High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC) Nasal Cannula Oxygen Assist in the care of patients with respiratory compromise. Specialty Nursing Skills Feeding Tube Management Wound Care and Wound Vac Therapy Blood Product Administration Renal Failure Management Pre/Post Hemodialysis Care Post Cardiac Angiogram Care TR Band Management Collaboration & Quality Care Work closely with physicians, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, case managers, and support staff. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and patient safety programs. Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with organizational standards. Follow infection prevention and isolation protocols. Required Qualifications Active RN License (Compact or State License). Minimum 1 year of recent IMC, PCU, Step-Down, Cardiac Telemetry, or Medical-Surgical Telemetry experience. Strong cardiac nursing experience required. Experience managing telemetry patients and cardiac monitoring. Comfortable caring for patients with a 1:4 patient ratio. Experience with electronic medical records preferred.
