Job Description

Walter Reed National Military Medical Center Bethesda, Maryland GiaCare Inc. is seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse Practitioner specializing in Nephrology to provide outpatient specialty care in support of Walter Reed National Military Medical Center , one of the nation's premier military medical centers. This is an outstanding opportunity to care for active-duty service members, military retirees, and their families while working alongside an experienced multidisciplinary nephrology team. Schedule Full-Time Monday-Friday Typical daytime outpatient schedule (generally 7:00 AM-4:00 PM) Outpatient clinic No routine on-call Federal holidays observed Excellent work-life balance What You'll Do Manage patients with Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) Stage 3 & 4 Evaluate and manage difficult-to-control hypertension Utilize 24-hour ambulatory blood pressure monitoring Provide longitudinal follow-up for kidney transplant patients Coordinate care with physicians and interdisciplinary teams Educate patients and families regarding chronic kidney disease and treatment plans Document care within the electronic medical record Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree of Nursing from a NLN approved school; Master's Degree in Nurse Practitioner from an American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANA) accredited school. Board certified Adult Nurse Practitioner (ANP-BC) certification is mandatory. Must have at least five (5) years of experience with outpatient management of chronic kidney disease Stage 3 and 4. Must have experience with outpatient management of difficult to control hypertension, and intensively manage patients with uncontrolled blood pressure. Must have ability to manage 24-hour-blood pressure monitoring equipment and software. Must have experience with case management of patients post kidney transplant. Must have or obtain a current, valid Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration number prior to performing the contract services.
