Contract-to-Hire NurseAmerica is seeking an experienced and compassionate Chemotherapy Registered Nurse (RN) to join a leading outpatient oncology practice in Columbia, MD. This Contract-to-Hire opportunity is ideal for nurses with chemotherapy and infusion experience who are passionate about delivering exceptional patient-centered cancer care. The Chemotherapy RN plays a critical role in administering chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and supportive oncology treatments while ensuring patient safety, education, and ongoing clinical support throughout the treatment journey. Key Responsibilities Safely prepare and administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, biologic therapies, and supportive infusion treatments according to established oncology protocols Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including review of laboratory results, vital signs, treatment plans, and overall clinical status Monitor patients during and after treatment for adverse reactions and treatment-related complications Perform venipuncture and access, maintain, and troubleshoot implanted ports, PICC lines, and central venous access devices Collaborate with physicians and advanced practice providers regarding treatment plans, symptom management, and dose modifications Educate patients and caregivers regarding chemotherapy regimens, side effects, symptom management, and follow-up care Provide emotional support and advocacy throughout the cancer treatment process Verify treatment orders, consents, and required authorizations prior to therapy administration Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation Assist with patient triage, telephone assessments, scheduling, and coordination of care Ensure compliance with OSHA standards, infection control practices, and hazardous drug handling protocols Maintain treatment areas, supplies, and infusion equipment according to safety and quality standards Serve as a clinical resource and mentor to LPNs, Medical Assistants, and less-experienced nursing staff Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ongoing oncology education Qualifications Graduate of an accredited nursing program Active Maryland RN License or Compact RN License Current BLS Certification Minimum 1 year of Oncology Nursing or Infusion Nursing experience preferred Chemotherapy administration experience strongly preferred ONS Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy Provider Card strongly preferred Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) certification preferred Strong clinical assessment, communication, and organizational skills Work Environment Outpatient Oncology and Infusion Clinic Day Shift Schedule Exposure to chemotherapy agents, biologics, hazardous medications, and communicable diseases Frequent standing, walking, and occasional lifting up to 40 pounds Why Join This Opportunity?
