Registered Nurse, MedSurg, Nights University of Maryland Medical System - 3.5 Glen Burnie, MD Job Details Full-time 6 hours ago Qualifications Direct patient care RN License BLS Certification Full Job Description Job Requirements The Clinical Nurse II (CN II) is an experienced professional registered nurse who provides direct patient care while serving as a clinical resource, mentor, and leader within the interdisciplinary team. The CN II demonstrates advanced clinical judgment, accountability, and commitment to delivering safe, high-quality, patient-centered care. This role actively supports unit-based initiatives, quality improvement efforts, patient safety goals, and professional nursing practice standards while promoting a culture of collaboration, respect, and continuous learning. Current Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Maryland with a current BLS certification required. Work Experience Primary Responsibilities Provides comprehensive nursing care to patients across the continuum of care utilizing the nursing process. Demonstrates advanced clinical assessment, critical thinking, and decision-making skills. Coordinates and collaborates with physicians, therapists, pharmacists, case managers, and ancillary staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Serves as a clinical resource and mentor to novice nurses, nursing students, and support staff. Participates in charge nurse responsibilities as assigned. Leads and supports evidence-based practice, quality improvement, patient safety, and regulatory initiatives. Ensures compliance with organizational policies, nursing standards, and accrediatation requirements Supports patient and family education to promote informed decision-making and successful transitions of care. Promotes a positive work environment throught teamwork, professionalism, and effective communication. Demonstrates accountability for maintaining clinical competence and professional development. Participates in performance improvement activities focused on falls prevention, pressure injury prevention, patient experience, infection prevention, and other organizational priorities.
